Day 1: Eve

Her name means Life giving or mother of all who have life. She was the first woman ever to exist. She was doing something that had never been done before. She had no reference or examples before her. She was literally exploring the world and leaving a mark for others to follow. Eve was the first woman. She had no mother to teach her about becoming a woman. She had no aunts, cousins, sisters, or female friends to help guide her through menu planning, family planning, garden setting or house cleaning. She was the first in all of these things! What YOU know now, you only know because Eve did it first and we have all been handed down the secrets ever since. What a privilege to have great examples of women before us, who have walked the road ahead of us and cleared the path for us to walk and not stumble. May we take advantage of these treasures that surround us and like a baby latching onto the mother to feed, may we allow ourselves to learn from their experiences and to be carried by their wisdom. Eve's uniqueness and distinctiveness is seen first in her creation story. While Adam was created from the dust of the ground, Eve was formed from Adam himself. She was taken out of man. It's her creation story that sets her apart as 'woman'. Although a part of Adam but yet different in form and being. She had a great responsibility laid on her shoulders from creation. She would be the mother of all life. Meaning her blood would run through all mankind. Woman creation is watching you. You have a responsibility bestowed upon you to be an example in word, in thought and in deed. You are no ordinary woman. You have greatness in you. Take your life seriously. Let your uniqueness come to life. Live your life to the fullest and know that the world is watching and learning from you. May your life be a living testimony of the greatness of God! She has an encounter with the enemy who decieves her and that leads to the fall of mankind. Be careful of the whispers in your ear oh Eve. Guard your ears diligently. Do not be easily swayed. Focus on what God says. Do not be controlled by your own desires but allow the will of the Lord to prevail at all times.
