Have you ever been in a season where you knew you were doing too much. Not just a feeling, but a knowing that you've taken more than you can handle? How do we declutter our lives of the clutter we have collected ourselves. How do we accept defeat in other areas of our lives in order to chase after success in that one area that we know is the one. How do we become a jack of one trade and master of one. One thing for sure is that focused people are successful people and the tragedy of most gifted people is their inability to direct their efforts into that one thing that can catapult them to the next level of success (in the words of @thembieln). When efforts are spread thin success is a difficult goal to chase. But when efforts are centered on that one thing that brings us the uttermost satisfaction and fulfillment we are bound to excel in that 'one thing'. The key to success is therefore to centre our efforts. Hard as it may be for many but it helps. I've been doing an introspection into my life and I realised that I've been carrying a lot of baggage. Being honest with oneself is hard to do but I had to be. I realised that there was too much clutter. I had slowly drifted away from what really gave me the greatest satisfaction in search of resources, likes and popularity. Over the past week I've had to make tough decisions pertaining where I want my life to go. I've had to shut down a few commitments I had placed upon myself naively and direct my focus to the first love. To what really matters. It's a journey of realignment and I should say it's the most fulfilling journey one can be in. It's like coming back to your core. To that one place that was intended for you. That one place that has been waiting for you while you were out there chasing counterfeits or temporary joys. There is no better time than now to clean up, to do some thorough housekeeping and to take stock of our level of fruitfulness. I challenge you this week to take a close look into your life and evaluate yourself. Be genuine, honest and sincere with yourself. Look into your routines. Are they working for you or against you? Look into the things that you are pursuing. Are you on the right track or did you lose your way along the line? Let's go back to our vision, purpose and mission statement. Is what you are doing now in line with the vision that you have for your life? Does it connect to God's purpose for your life. Does it in any way align itself to your mission statement or your statement of faith? Be bold enough to accept that this way is not working and change course. Let go of the baggage and the deadweight. Free yourself from expectations of man and begin to focus on God and what He desires for your life. I've started on this journey. It's not easy but in the one week I've started I feel lighter. I've closed a few social media accounts, unfollowed quiet a few people who were not serving me anymore and let go of some ideas that I thought were going to work. It was becoming too much and I was choking. It was high time I tapped out on some things. Becoming great at something just takes courage. It takes the courage to find one thing, committing to that one thing, and putting all those other somethings to rest. Find your one thing. Stick to it. Stop trying to do everything." - Cole Schafer Stay focused on what you do well and don't change it. You are important and you are doing it. So it's important.
